My 2020 New Year’s Resolutions

Hello my lovelies,

Today I am here to talk about what I plan to do in the first few months of 2020. I cannot believe it is almost a new decade! I am getting older as the years go by, I’m 21 at the moment and I cannot believe I am going to be turning 22 next year.

I’ve had my ups and downs, suffered great losses, had intense issues with mental health and my past relationships. But… I want that to change in 2020. I have always wanted to publish books that I have written – me and my friends used to write books in high school, and we still do now, but I really want to make a go of it now.

I’ve been saying for the past 5 years ‘this is my year’ and it’s not really worked out. But I feel like… new decade, a year older, a new me and new goals.

So, I’ve been planning to self-publish. Rather than go down the painstaking process of traditional publishing for the first time, I want to make my name in the publishing industry, then try my hand at it. Get my foot in the door, as it will.

I have a few books I want to self-publish and work on in 2020 – those being:

The Shattered illusions Series: I have one book written here and one in progress. I am working on planning the third in the series right now.

The Lucid Clock Series: I also have one of these written (although short and currently undergoing editing) and a second one planned and partially written.

These are the two book series I hope to start self-publishing in 2020 and 2021 – starting with The Shattered Illusions Series as that will be longer and I am enjoying writing that at the moment.

My second new years resolution is: to be happier. Now, you are saying, how are you going to do that?

I have no idea. But I know I want to be, I want to work on myself and to be happier in my appearance, myself and my life. I have accepted that everything that has happened to me, did indeed happen. Nothing can change that.

But the people I have lost, I can make them proud. And others, I want to rub it in their faces for never believing in me.

  1. Hi Alaric, Thanks for writing this lovely blog. I’m still working on my resolutions for 2020, they mainly focus on working on myself, not caring what other people think of me so much and taking the time to be more mindful about things rather than rushing around all the time. Also continuing to work on my mental health as I suffer with anxiety. I was fortunate to have some counselling for this last Autumn to help me manage it better. I find that blogging and reading other people’s blogs really help to relax me. Wishing you all the best for 2020 and looking forward to following and reading your blogs.
